DOCTORAL SCHOOL IN LINGUISTICS

 

Péter Kappel is an assistant professor at the Institute of German Studies, University of Szeged. He completed his PhD studies at the Doctoral School of Linguistics of the SZTE and received his degree with „summa cum laude” in 2017. The title of his dissertation is Integrationsgrad vorangestellter Adverbialsätze im Neuhochdeutschen (1650-2000) (supervisor: Vilmos Ágel). He started to teach at the Institute of German Studies, University of Szeged, in 2004, where he taught various courses on linguistics, syntax, linguistic variation, contrastive linguistics and language typology. His main research topics are the history of the German language, syntax, German dialects in Hungary and learner language. Former DAAD scholar, from 2017–2021 he participated in the international project Deutsch-ungarischer Sprachvergleich: korpustechnologisch, funktional-semantisch und sprachdidaktisch (DeutUng), since 2019 co-project leader for the German-Hungarian Learner Corpus (Dulko). From 2022 he has been participant of the OTKA project Lexicographic processing of the German dialects in Hungary.
